FutureSaurus Page 10- Splash

So, I've been busy plugging away at inks for this first issue of FutureSaurus and that's why I've had little time to post lately...  So here's a little treat, page 10, in which we are introduced to that most radical of reptiles...  Rex Raditude!  Of course, this is for color, so I'll get there eventually.  I've got close to half of the pages inked, so wish me luck as I lock myself away and get 'em done.  Meh, I won't be completely locked away...  If you wanna grab a beer, you know where to find me.

More FutureSaurus Panels, YAY!

Here are two panels from page 19 of FutureSaurus Issue/Chapter 1.  I wanted to play with some color today before I go back to inking.  Sometimes seeing just some finished panels gets me on my way to finishing the whole deal.  Enjoy!

FutureSaurus- Page 18

I've got 23 pages more to go, but thought I'd throw up one of the more exciting moments from the first issue on the blog.  I'm writing, thumbnailing, penciling, inking, lettering, and coloring this all myself, so bear with your lil buddy over here.  It's deliberately inked for color, so that's why there's no solid blacks.  I'll put up the colors as I go along, but just wanted to do a little teaser dealie today.  The official short synopsis of FutureSaurus is:  "Dr. Jeremy Duderman, the world's most wickedly awesome scientist, has just created his greatest invention, the Reality Alternative Dimensionator (or R.A.D. for short).  Instead of allowing Jeremy the power to go back and erase his painful childhood memories of being a nerd, he unintentionally releases the most extreme force in the alternative universe...  Rex Raditude aka The FutureSaurus!  But it isn't all pizza parties and video games as the evil Emperor Buzzkill and his cronies are constantly cramping Rex's style.  The world's fate now lies with the dinosaur who has prehistoric strength, a futuristic arsenal, and a 90's attitude!" 

 

8-Bit FutureSaurus

Just started teaching myself how to do some pixel art in photoshop.  Dude, it's harder than it seems.  There's a lot of planning and screen shotting and wanting to kill myself over stupid mistakes.  Bear with me, I'll get the hang of it.

Turtle Sketches!

So, I do a little sketching before I hop into doing finished page illustration and today I decided it was a TMNT kinda day.  I wanna do a lot more, but I'm still figuring out a good mix of detail and just straight up clean, shape design.  The full figure Raph was my attempt to mix the comics version with the cartoon version.  Ultimately, I think it's a little too goofy...

Pres Cats 2- John Adams

John Adams...  Our second president.  It's a legend that on his death bed he pulled one of his closest advisers to him and whispered, "Hey man, if HBO ever makes a miniseries about my life Paul Giamatti should totally play me...".  His friends and family were all like, "Who the eff is Paul Giamatti?" and "What's an HBO?"

Rascal Raccoon Sketch Book

I've just filled up a sketchbook and have had to move on to another, so I thought I should put up some sketches I did before, during, and after I worked on Rascal Raccoon's Raging Revenge.

This is an unaltered page from my sketchbook...  I can be pretty OCD when it comes to filling in room.  Just thought I'd let ya in on my wackiness.

Here's a 20's style "Steamboat Rascal" along with anime-inspired Rascal I did just for fun.

Some side character sketches and designs.  This is when they really came together.  I refuse to show early sketches because they were freaking horrible and 3 years old now.

Lexx 2.0

Pres Cats 1- George Washington

Soooo, doing the Truman Catpote thing the other day reminded me of a project I had started and not finished a little while back... I'm doing all the portraits of all the presidents EVER! Oh, and they're cats. Why? Because I feel like it. Here's numero uno- Good 'Ol George Washington.

True Fact- His teeth were made of the wood of the very cherry tree he chopped down as a youngster. How did he lose his teeth in the first place, you ask? He ran into a tree limb... Oh, the irony.

T-Shirt Maybes?

I thought if I made this as a shirt, it'd sweep the nation... Cuz we all know people are gaga for two things: 1) cats and 2) effeminate writers of the 20th century.
